Down With Rockstar Programmers

I read a great post today by Ron Evans titled, I Would Rather Be A Jazz Programmer.

I've gotta say I find the idea of programming jam sessions very appealing. I'll play the proverbial bass -- not the focus of attention but supplying a good stable infrastructure upon which something appealing can be built. The drums provide the timelines I'm just incapable of keeping up with on my own while a trumpet helps hold the attention of people who take the fundamentals for granted.

On the other hand, I don't want to give up the groupies that naturally flock towards rock stars.
